What further information do you want. We are talking about a female, Ruth Nauyaq Carter from Noorvik. Joe Carter, Sr. was her brother. Are there any records to show that she was returned to Alaska. We can ck with API here, if she was returned here, I think they would have sought to inform her family.
Could you provide me a list.
Thank you.

My father in law, Joe Carter, Sr. had a sister, who was mentally deficient. He said that one day someone came and picked her up while they were young kids and she never came back. I asked if there were any permission slips signed, he said no. He was her caretaker, her older sibling. He never received any letter to inform him of her whereabouts. He had heard about Morningside tho. We did request some information through Alaska Legal Services, we got a reply saying that the place had closed and that all records had burnt in a fire. Her name was Ruth Nauyaq Carter from Noorvik, Alaska. If there are any records of her whereabouts or her death, information would be appreciated. Her nieces and nephews are still here but their dad passed on, not too long ago.

Thank you.

I am with the Friends of Multnomah Park Pioneer Cemetery. If you need a photo of the cemetery or would like for one of us to search for a headstone, please let us know. Most of the burials at Multnomah Park have at least a temporary stone that is just under the surface of the turf. We are pleased to help if we can.

Wow! I have been searching off and on for years for information about my mother who was admitted to Morningside Hospital in Feb of 1956 and then again in Oct of 1957. She spent about 6 months there each time. We were living in Spenard AK at that time. My dad did not share information with us but I have found some correspondence with bits and pieces of information on my mother. Mom passed away in April of 1958 in Morningside Hospital or Good Samatarian Hospital. She had gotten the flu...pneumonia...surgeries...and then death. Do you know where I can get information on her and her stay at both of the hopsitals listed above. Her name was Genevieve Hoover Rogers birth 8/9/1924 death 4/5/1958?

Here is the website for 14 Oregon Pioneer Cemeteries and where I found the location of James Ebana (Ebeno) at Multnomah Pioneer Cemetery. You may be able to search here for names. May also need to use alternative spellings.

I saw the name of Mary Orasuk listed as a patient in 1955 and was wondering if you have any more information on this lady. There are not too many Orasuk's as the name had been changed to Orasuk.

1. Apply for Oregon Death Certificate which tells funeral home and cemetery.
2. Even though cemetery is listed it may take more research because of the changes in owernship. Contact the Oregon Cemetary Board at (971) 673-1500 (I found them helpful).
3. Then contact the cemetery for their records.

Those are my thoughts.

During the early 1960's, many Morningside patients returned to Alaska. The Alaska Psychiatric Institute opened in 1962. It's difficult to answer your question about where he is buried without a little more information about you grandfather. I'll email you directly to see if we have anything that will help in your search.

[WORDPRESS HASHCASH] The poster sent us '0 which is not a hashcash value.
