My great uncle Henry Bunn show on the 1940 census for being an inmate in Willard and there are no other records of him. I am wondering what ever happened to him as I am doing the family geneology. I was told he went there when he was 18 which would of been much earlier than 40's. He was 38 in 1940 and from what I have read about this place I am almost positive he is burried there. Could someone please help me I would like to know what happened to my family member.

I looked in the oregon death records and found a Wasalisia Haakanson, Date of Death 1/19/1954 at Multnomah, husband Arthur. I've also looked in the Oregon Metro Cemetery list and did not find her. So maybe she was buried somewhere else.

I would contact the Oregon vital records and request a detailed or original death certificate, which should indicate mortuary and place of burial. Hope that helps.

My paternal grandmother Ida M Scott was at Morningside Hospital from approximately 1929 (1930) to July 24, 1961 when she passed. We know she was buried in Greenwood Hills Cemetery and have visited her grave (when we could find it). We would like to have as much of her records as we can possibly obtain. Her absence has created a missing link in our family history.
Ida was married to Aaron M Scott, they had five children together before she was institutionalized from Valdez Alaska.

I am building a family tree finally and joined ancestry.com and came across something about Morningside. I think it was patients at that hospital in the early years. Made me think of this project. Have you gone to their website?

I sought my grandmother's records from roughly 1925 through 1953, when she was a patient there. I was finally told (after they said they did a thorough search) that her records and any subsequent photo, as in later years they took photographs of each patient, had been destroyed. We have no photographs of my grandmother. Please be aware that some of the records have been destroyed.

Looking for my Grandmother who was Wasalisia Haakanson or Phyllis Haakanson. She was from Kodiak and died at Morningside Hospital in the 1950's. We do not know where she was buried. Her maiden name was Shugak. She did not speak too much english, she was aleut. Baptized as Russian Orthodox. My mother told me that someone there would transcribe letters from her to their family. Any information you may have about her or where she was laid to rest we would like to know. thank you.
